Signs That You Should Replace Your Front Door

Signs That You Should Replace Your Front Door

October 29, 2019

Doors can last for several years as long as they’re well-maintained. But once they finally reach the end of their service life, no amount of repainting or repairs can save them. To know if it’s time to get a replacement, Renewal by Andersen® of Milwaukee, a top provider of quality doors and double-hung windows, shares some signs that you should watch out for.

When to Replace Your Front Door

One sure sign that you need a replacement is when you have to do repairs more frequently. Apart from saving you from the trouble of getting it fixed, door replacement will also prove to be cost-effective in the long run.

As much as possible, schedule your door replacement project before the winter. This way, you can avoid all the hassle associated with home improvement during the colder months. Moreover, you can benefit from the improved energy efficiency that you can get from a new front door. This would definitely complement the energy efficiency contributed by your replacement windows, if you have any.

Tips on Buying a Front Door

When selecting a new door for your home, one of the things that you should check is the material. Make sure it’s made from a durable material and it has a capacity for energy efficiency. Don’t forget to take the measurements of your existing door. Find out its width, thickness and height as these can make door shopping easier and faster for you. Apart from these measurements, check the thickness of your wall and the width of the door jamb as well.

Hear From Our Customers

I cant express how happy we are with choosing Andersen for our window installation. Our sales representative was knowledgeable with product and answered any questions we had without hesitation. I did also fill out a survey that was sent in an email, but sadly I failed to personally name the two gentlemen that performed the actual installation. Barrett and Francisco were our guys, and let me tell you, they were outstanding!!! They did Excellent work and were professional as well as efficient and made this a smooth, none evasive process for us. I strongly recommend this company and these installers to anyone in need of windows!!! My husband and I could not be more pleased we chose Andersen for replacing our windows!!!

Jason and Brett did an awesome job installing our doors. We had separate installers a month earlier for our windows who also did a fantastic job. They were all very professional and cleaned up almost better than the area looked before the installation! Since these were both jobs that took more than one day the installers were great at keeping us informed on the status of where the project was at along the way.

This was a great crew to work with. Both the original install manager we worked with (Jay) and the install team (Daniel, Mason, Tony, Ethan, and Jose). Everyone was very professional and knowledgable. They answered all my questions and the end result on the house is great. In 3 days they replaced an old bay window with a new bay window, a set of french doors on the patio with a sliding patio door, and our old front door with a new front door and storm door.
