Ways to Improve Home Insulation

Ways to Improve Home Insulation

January 02, 2018

Insulation and proper heating become a much bigger concern as winter approaches. You don’t need to spend a fortune to stay warm during the cold days of winter. Renewal by Andersen®, Milwaukee’s expert windows contractor, suggests the following ways to boost your home’s insulation.

Ways to Improve Home Insulation

Get Double-Hung Windows

As one of our most popular products from Renewal By Andersen, double-hung windows are great for homeowners who want to improve the insulation of their home. They can help your home retain energy better. You can open both the bottom and top sashes, so during warmer months you can allow the cool breeze to come in and push the warmer air out. During winter, you can simply close the window to prevent drafts and air leaks.

Use High-Quality Doors

Choose doors made of high quality wood, as this plays an important role in keeping the heat inside your home at the level you want. Old or cheap doors tend to have gaps that let drafts in, and they either have a short life span or come with very poor warranties from the manufacturer, if at all.

Our doors, however, are not only backed by industry-leading warranties for the product and the workmanship, but they are also beautiful, adding value to your home. The hardware is class-leading in beauty and longevity, as well.

When it comes to products for proper insulation, Renewal By Andersen is the company to turn to. The items we install meet industry standards. We use Fibrex for our window frames and sashes. It’s a mixture of polymers and reclaimed wood grains. The result of this is a stronger, more durable and energy-efficient material. It can also withstand the harsh cold of winter without warping or chipping.

Hear From Our Customers

This was a great crew to work with. Both the original install manager we worked with (Jay) and the install team (Daniel, Mason, Tony, Ethan, and Jose). Everyone was very professional and knowledgable. They answered all my questions and the end result on the house is great. In 3 days they replaced an old bay window with a new bay window, a set of french doors on the patio with a sliding patio door, and our old front door with a new front door and storm door.

I cant express how happy we are with choosing Andersen for our window installation. Our sales representative was knowledgeable with product and answered any questions we had without hesitation. I did also fill out a survey that was sent in an email, but sadly I failed to personally name the two gentlemen that performed the actual installation. Barrett and Francisco were our guys, and let me tell you, they were outstanding!!! They did Excellent work and were professional as well as efficient and made this a smooth, none evasive process for us. I strongly recommend this company and these installers to anyone in need of windows!!! My husband and I could not be more pleased we chose Andersen for replacing our windows!!!

Jason and Brett did an awesome job installing our doors. We had separate installers a month earlier for our windows who also did a fantastic job. They were all very professional and cleaned up almost better than the area looked before the installation! Since these were both jobs that took more than one day the installers were great at keeping us informed on the status of where the project was at along the way.
