This is why when you choose our patio doors, you’ll have three big decisions to make. 

Patio Door Style

Renewal by Andersen patio doors are available in two distinct styles: traditional French doors and contemporary sliding doors. Our French doors are great for traditional architecture, with their equally traditional hinged design, finishes, and grille options. Other patio door contractors only offer in-swinging French doors, but we also offer an outswinging option to maximize your interior space.

Modern architecture calls for sleek, streamlined design, which is exactly what our sliding doors are all about. Sliding doors are also great for saving space and for areas that would not have otherwise fit hinged doors. Our patio doors use Andersen®-designed adjustable, self-lubricating rollers that use steel wheel with ball bearings, resulting in operation so smooth, we’ve taken to calling them gliding doors. And to combine the benefits of these doors with traditional looks, we also offer Frenchwood® gliding French doors.

Colors and Finishes

To begin customizing your chosen patio door style, start with the exterior colors. We offer four different colors that will look great with your siding and trim: white, canvas, Sandtone, and Terratone®. You can then choose a different interior color to match your interior decor and color palette. Our Perma-Shield® sliding door frame material is available in the same four colors, while our Narroline® frames are available in a stainable pine finish. Our Frenchwood finish, available on all French door options, is available in stainable pine, oak, or maple finishes, plus prefinished white.

Hardware and Accessories

You can further customize your Renewal by Andersen patio doors with hardware and accessories. We offer 12 different hardware finishes, from classic black or white, to brass, chrome, and nickel in polished or distressed options. Also, bronze hardware features a “living” finish that grows a natural patina, making it look even more beautiful over time. To better match your existing windows, choose from our four standard grille styles or we can build custom grilles to match.
